“Heads Up” Head Lice Program
The “Heads Up” program is an educational and supportive program for families who are dealing with Head Lice and Nits. Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association Home Visitors are able to go into a home and conduct head lice screenings for the family. Home Visitors also assist low- income families with purchasing the supplies needed for treatment. The Home Visitor meets with the family on a weekly basis and creates a calendar that helps them to follow a safe and effective treatment plan. The “Heads Up” program also lends vacuum cleaners, if necessary, to the families so that they can effectively remove the lice and nits from the home.
