Maternal and Child Health
Concord Regional VNA Maternal and Child Health services are available to pregnant women and postpartum women to help give you and your new family member a healthy start.
Our experienced team cares for you and your newborn in the comfort of your own home. Nurses have specialized obstetric training to help prepare you for birth and teach you how to care for your newborn once you leave the hospital.
Our Services Include:
- Maternal and newborn assessment
- Prenatal care and support
- Care of premature babies
- Follow-up care on Neonatal Intensive Care Unit discharged infants
- Care and treatment of perinatal complications
- Assistance with breast-feeding and/or other feeding difficulties
- Information on the infant’s preventative health needs
- Information on family planning and postpartum depression
- Use of photo light therapy needed to decrease Bilirubin found in a baby’s blood which causes jaundice
- Information on when to call a physician
- Assessment and case management to identify needed community resources
- Assessment of emotional and family issues
- Short-term counseling of mothers
